The Poné Ensemble
The Poné Ensemble was founded in 1974 by Gundaris Poné (1932 - 1994) and Karen Poné (1935 - 2005).  The Poné Ensemble has been presenting chamber music of the 20th and 21st century to audiences in New York’s Hudson Valley and is celebrating its 35th anniversary season in 2009.


Our Mission
The Poné Ensemble is dedicated to the performance of contemporary chamber music.  The ensemble has premiered many works of composers of all ages and seeks to increase the accessibility and enjoyment of contemporary music by living composers to appreciative audiences in the Hudson Valley and beyond.

Continuing in the spirit of its founders, Gundaris and Karen Poné, the musicians and Board of Directors of the Poné Ensemble welcome you to our 35th anniversary season. Each concert season brings guest artists to join with the regular musicians of the Poné Ensemble in offering music of the 20th and 21st Centuries that you are unlikely to hear elsewhere.

2009 Concert Season
Sunday, February 1, 2009 :: 3:00 p.m.
Sunday, March 22, 2009 :: 3:00 p.m.
Friday, May 29, 2009 :: 8:00 p.m.

The February 1 concert will be held at Unison Arts & Learning Center, 68 Mountain Rest Road, New Paltz, New York. All other concerts are held at the New Paltz United Methodist Church, corner of Main and Grove Streets, New Paltz.
